Villa La Massa
Tuscany, Italy
The birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence brims with fascinating history, world-class art, enchanting architecture and gourmet Tuscan cuisine. Ideal for long weekend escapes, the romantic city is compact in size meaning it’s made for walking. Its narrow cobbled streets, medieval candle-lit chapels and marble basilicas are a feast for the eyes, whilst works by Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo at the world-famous Uffizi Gallery are incomprehensible in their beauty. The wonders of Florence are a mere 15-minute shuttle ride from Villa La Massa, a Medici villa sat regally amidst the rolling hills of Tuscany and is the perfect countryside base from which to discover the city’s charm. Whilst staying at the hotel, travellers have special access to lesser-know galleries in the area ensuring they experience Florence in a profoundly unique light, can partake in painting and cooking classes, enjoy local vineyard tours or, for a truly memorable afternoon, drive through the winding streets of nearby villages in one of Villa La Massa’s red ferraris. Beautiful walking trails surround the property and as a member of the ‘Grandi Giardini Italiani’ association, Villa La Massa can arrange for private visits to other spectacular villas and gardens within the region, such as the gardens of Villa Marlia, which is usually closed to visitors, ensuring a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
