DEI Scholarship Program

About the Scholarship

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Scholarship is designed to support U.S. citizens and permanent residents from historically underrepresented and diverse backgrounds in pursuing a career pathway in public relations and social media. Eligible applicants seeking a paid Post Grad position at J/PR will be considered for this scholarship which will provide additional financial contribution in the form of a housing and transportation stipends, allowing out of market recipients to live near and work at one of our headquarter offices (San Diego and New York City) for six-months.

Our goal with the DEI scholarship is to foster the growth and advancement of the next generation of public relations and social media professionals by giving them a chance to learn by experience, immerse themselves in the day-to-day of our various roles, begin establishing media connections, learn and expand upon the core building blocks of careers in PR/social media. Our hope is that through our DEI scholarship, we will ignite interest and passion and a desire to grow in the travel and hospitality industry and lay the groundwork for a long productive career journey. J/PR guarantees at least (1) scholarship recipient annually.

The DEI scholarship includes:

  • $1,000/monthly stipend for 6-months, or the duration of the Post Grad position
  • Competitive hourly wages
  • Mentoring, counseling, and peer support to coach the candidate through the Post Grad position and our industry
  • And let’s not forget company culture initiatives like Fit Fridays, lunch + learn sessions, team outings and hybrid work schedule

Who is eligible?

The J/PR DEI Scholarship is intended to provide support to individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, disabilities, and diverse life experiences or financial hardships. Candidates may be new to the public relations/social media industry or have experience from school, internships or previous work.

Please complete the below form. Applications are accepted year-round and the J/PR Career page will share Post Grad positions available. The DEI Committee at J/PR will select the scholarship recipient on the basis of the candidate’s materials.
